Dolina Pilicy

The Pilica Valley

Pilica is one of the longest Polish rivers (342 km) and it is the largest left-bank tributary of the Vistula River. It meanders among rocks, sands, marshes, meadows and forests and reaches its end near village of Pilica.

There are also islands covered with greenery and teeming with wildlife. The area also abounds in canyons and dry valleys just waiting to be explored. Thanks to the marshes and peat-bogs, the region boasts a wide variety of water birds, as well as rich flora. The lay of the land means that areas with their own micro-climate are easy to find.
